Following a packed wedding schedule in October, Saturday was a nice change of pace as I documented the inauguration of Thomas Ross as the 17th president of Davidson College.
I always enjoy working with Davidson's Bill Giduz and Meg Kimmel and it was nice to get the opportunity to work with Leslie Marsicano, who organized the entire event.
I did a portrait of Ross some time back and he is incredibly personable.
For the photographers out there: during the ceremony at Belk Arena I utilized four strobes mounted in the rafters of the arena. I triggered the flashes with Pocket Wizard wireless transceivers.
Please enjoy a few selections from the day. As always, click on the images for better viewing.

Anne and Kelly in Charlotte
After traveling to weddings the past two weekends it was nice to be back in Charlotte for Anne and Kelly's wedding on Saturday.
It was a beautiful, warm October day with brilliant sunshine as the couple exchanged vows at Belk Chapel at Queens University. The Bonterra Dining and Wine Room hosted the early afternoon reception.
Catherine Bell of Marry Me Productions did a great job keeping things organized and the Cookie Band provided some smooth background music for the low-key event.
Anne and Kelly and their families were so laid-back it made everything so enjoyable.
I was also impressed when the pair ended their day by going to the hospital to visit Anne's grandmother who had broken her hip a few days earlier. She was so disappointed to miss the wedding and you could tell how much it meant when they stopped to visit.
Thanks so much for everything and have a great time in Italy!

Wedding Weekend in Dunn
The weather was beautiful this weekend as I traveled to Dunn, N.C., for the rehearsal dinner and wedding of Jennifer and Hammett.
Jennifer is a law student at nearby Campbell University and Hammett is the son of our friends Mark and Diane. Mark and I worked together at The Charlotte Observer and I was honored to have the chance to document these events.
The weekend kicked off with a wonderful party hosted by Jennifer and Hammett's good friends Jodi and Wiley. Their beautiful home was the perfect setting as family and friends shared a Low Country Boil.
Jodi also served as the wedding director and their children, Jackson and Virginia, were the ring bearer and flower girl.
Following the wedding ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church, everyone headed to the Howard House for the reception.
Thanks to everyone for a great weekend!
Jennifer and Hammett were going to spend a few days at the Pinehurst Resort before Jennifer headed back to class. I hope you played well at Pinehurst No. 2 Hammett!
